Weston family letters, 1836-1844

This collection contains letters from to Thankful Weston in the Richmondville section of Tolland, Connecticut; John Weston in Vernon, Connecticut to Orson Weston in Hartford; William Weston in Carthage, Illinois to Elisha Weston in Rockville, Connecticut; and later letters from Orson Weston, living in Quincy, Illinois, to family in Connecticut. In William Weston's letter he mentions the Mormons and the trouble they were causing. One letter was written by John Wheeler, Jr. of Quincy, to the Weston brothers in Vernon, apprising them of Orson's death. Transcriptions of two letters are in the collection. An additional piece of note is a marriage certificate for Bursillui Shippee and Cretia Burlingame of Gloucester.
